Election results (updates) ...

Other credible reports indicate that CUF has won 6 seats, including Mji Mkongwe, Bububu, Kidatu, Bumbwini, Nungwi, and Kiembesamaki.

Latest reports indicate that CUF has won 8 seats, including Mji Mkongwe.


Conspiracy theories ...

Conversation with internal election observers (TEMCO) points to a bleak future for CUF. Something is burning and all the results presented so far may be manipulated in favour of CCM...


Election results (updates) ...

CCM wins Kiembesamaki by a small margin but in Pemba CUF has scooped all the seats. There are reports that Shamsi Nahodha and Ali Juma Shamuhuna are refusing to sign results after they lost their seats.


KMKM fires and injures two, CCM agents refuses to sign results ...

KMKM has fired and injured two CUF supporters, Abdallah Madina and Ali Saidi, at Bububu. The two slowed down when they saw KMKM soldiers beating a civilian.

CCM agents have refused to sign result sheets in areas where their party's count fell short of that of CUF. It is believed that CUF has a clear lead in Mji Mkongwe (Stone Town), Tumbatu, Nungwi, Matemwe, Bububu, Magogoni, Mpendae, Jang'ombe, Amani, Mtoni, and Mwanakwerekwe, which is a constituent of the current Chief Minister - Shamsu Nahodha.


Election results ...

In an unexpected turn of events, CCM is crying foul of CUF. Sauti ya Tanzania Zanzibar, the official government radio has stopped announcing results.

CUF has won the Mkoani seat.

Only two polling stations are yet to finish vote counting in the Mji Mkongwe constituency but CUF leads by about 2000 votes. Elsewhere, Kiembesamaki and Mtoni have fallen to CUF.

At Ng'ombeni polling station: Maalim Seif leads Amani by about 120 votes in almost every counting room, but at Makombeni Amani leads by about 20 votes.

At Limbani polling station: Maalim Seif - 680; Amani Karume - 110; Total votes - 800.


Violence in Mtoni, results ...

Violence as police beat civilians in Mtoni but other news from credible sources indicate that CUF has won in Matemwe, Mwanakwerekwe, and Mlandege.


Violence at Forodhani, Boni headbuts a youth ...

Janjaweed are seen in every polling station in Stone Town but at one station in Forodhani violence has errupted when voters attempted to prevent them from voting.

The parliamentary candidate for the ruling party (CCM) in the Stone Town constituency, Boniface Mwale, was seen headbutting a youth at Mnazi Mmoja polling station. Police did nothing following this incidence.


Janjaweed caught with polling boxes, KMKM kidnaps bodyguard ...

Last night, the ruling party's sponsored militia were caught with two polling boxes following a tip from CUF's Blue Guard. The boxes were found in a car parked behind the wall in an undisclosed area. Police are interrogating an election clerk and a state security officer.

KMKM have kidnapped the bodyguard of the presidential candidate for the opposition - Civic United Front (CUF), Mr Hamad Mmmanga and a driver.

A group of people believed to be from upcountry areas have been seen roaming in the streets of Stone Town. Reports indicate that they are already at Bwawani and have demanded to be allowed to vote at this station.
