Paradise Lost
Paradise lost is a poem written by Prof. Yusuf Kassam, formerly of the University of Dar es Salaam and currently living in Toronto, Canada. According Prof. Abdulaziz Lodhi of the Department of Linguistics & Philology, Uppsala University in Sweden, Yusuf Kassam was an outstanding student at the former King George VI Grammar School (Now: Lumumba Secondary School). He was among the first Zanzibaris/Tanzanians to have published poems in English.

Historical 1963 UN Speech
Prime Minister Muhammed Shamte Hamad (as Head of Government of the independent and Sovereign State of Zanzibar) delivered the following historic speech on the historic day of 16th December, 1963 to the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization in New York.
Tolerance: Principal Foundation of the Cosmopolitan Society of Zanzibar.
For a substantial number of people, notably in the northern hemisphere, the name Zanzibar sounds mythical and makes people dream. However, in reality, it has a physical existence and a particular place in the world map. It is an island country, which consists of Unguja and Pemba islands and a multitude of other islets (approximately fifty).
