Benn, who is fluent in Swahili, English, Finnish, Swedish and French, knows both the science and the art of cookery. Having studied Gastronomy in Finland and France and worked extensively in Tanzania, Finland, Ivory Coast, Sweden and France, he has all what it takes to flavour, colour, season, spice and finally turn a lousy collection of foods into wonderful and presentable meal.
Benn is very much interested in sharing his knowledge for the benefit of younger generation in Tanzania. He was instrumental in the preparation of the Hotel and Restaurant Management Syllabus for Tanzania colleges and has done some research on Swahili cuisines. He has also produced and participated on a TV series in Finland that showed culinary cultures from different parts of the world.
Benn Haidari, currently living in the island of Aaland in Finland, loves the art of making food and on this site you have a chance to read on many of his creations. He has taken the culinary culture from Zanzibar and spiced it with the art of modern cooking turning local ingredients into some colourful and delicious dishes.
